Baku-APA. An F-16 fighter jet ran off a runway at an airport in the U.S. State of Oklahoma on Tuesday, and no injuries were reported, APA reports quoting local media.
The single-seat jet ran off the end of the main east-west runway at Tulsa International Airport, got stuck in the mud, with its nose landing gear and right main gear in the grass, according to news website newson6.com.
It was not clear how the jet ended up running off the runway in that position. The report said the aircraft appeared rolled off the runway after landing or trying to taking off.
The runway where the incident happened was closed to large aircraft until the F-16 is removed, according to the report.
The F-16 belongs to the 138th Fighter Wing of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, whose pilots fly training mission regularly from Tulsa International Airport, the report said.
