The Bank is working on a new strategy covering the period from 2027 to 2030, Serhat Köksal, President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), said at the 28th Annual Meeting of the Bank's Board of Governors, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, during 2025 and the first six months of 2026, the Bank succeeded in achieving its main objective – returning its operations to a sustainable growth trajectory.

S. Köksal said that the Bank had successfully returned to the international financial markets, and the three-year bond issue placed in February this year was oversubscribed sevenfold by investors. As a result of strong investor interest, it was possible to reduce the bond's yield spread by 60 basis points.

According to him, although the Bank currently has a "BBB" credit rating from Standard & Poor's and a "Baa2" credit rating from Moody's, the BSTDB is able to borrow on terms comparable to those available to international financial institutions with higher credit ratings.

The BSTDB President noted that the relocation of the Bank's new headquarters to Thessaloniki was completed on time and within budget. He added that the Bank continues business development and promotional activities to expand its operations in member countries. Within this framework, a business forum titled "Connecting Markets, Diversifying Economies: Azerbaijan as a Regional Hub" will be held in Baku on July 2.

S. Köksal stressed that the BSTDB believes it will achieve the high-growth scenario envisaged in its 2025-2026 medium-term strategy. He added that the Bank is currently preparing a medium-term strategy and business plan covering 2027-2030 based on consultations with member countries.
