Cuban authorities intend to continue maintaining contacts with the US government despite the lack of progress in negotiations, said Caribbean republic's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, APA reports.
"We intend to continue maintaining contacts, despite the fact that there is no progress in the negotiations," he said on Monday at a press conference dedicated to the presentation of Cuba's report on the negative impact of the US trade, economic, and financial embargo against the Caribbean republic, which will be submitted to the UN General Assembly.
"We had talks, and we continue to communicate with the United States," he noted. "But there was no progress in the talks due to a lack of political will on the part of the United States." The Caribbean republic's Foreign Minister assured that Cuba is ready for such talks "based on the principles of mutual respect and non-interference in the affairs of the Caribbean republic." However, Rodríguez Parrilla clarified that the talks did not even have a clear agenda.
