Argentine President Javier Miley has decided to appoint Pablo Quirno, currently Deputy Minister of Economy, as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, it was announced by the presidential press service, APA reports.
"The new foreign minister will be Pablo Quirno, head of the finance department and a key member of the economic team that managed to avoid the biggest crisis in the country's history," the statement said.
According to the press service, Miley is thus "strengthening the connection between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and the pro-market stance" of his government.
"The new Foreign Minister will continue to build international alliances with the goal of strengthening Argentina's place among Western countries," the text states.
