UN General Assembly President receives death threats

New-York – APA. President of the UN General Assembly, Miguel d’Escoto Brockman, disclosed that he had received death threats on the internet. UN security services and the US law-enforcement bodies are investigating the Brockman’s e-mail now. At a press briefing, a spokesman for Mr. Brockman told reporters that the president’s office had informed law enforcement agencies at the United Nations and New York about the threats. He also rejected an Israeli allegation that he had barred its representative from speaking in the UNGA last week.

Former religious figure, Miguel d’Escoto Brockman served as a foreign minister of Nicaragua under President Daniel Ortega in 1980s. He is known for his critics against the United States.
