Washington –APA. US president-elect Barack Obama had telephone conversations with the leaders of a number of countries. He talked to President Abdullah Gul of Turkey and President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia, as well as to Philippine President Gloria Arroyo after they called him up for congratulatory messages following his election, press service of the Obama’s transmission team said, APA reports.
Meanwhile, US vice president-elect Joseph Biden also spoke with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili as well as with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and EU foreign envoy Javier Solana.
