Condoleezza Rice says U.S. should not to be involved in dispute between Armenia and Turkey

â€œWhat we encouraged the Turkey and the Armenians to do is to have joint historical commissions that can look at this, to have efforts to examine their past, and in examining their past to get over it. I donâ€™t think it helps that process of reconciliation for the United States to enter this debate at that level,â€? she emphasized.
â€œMadame Secretary, your comments that there should be some kind of debate or discussion about the genocide suggests that you have a question about whether genocide occurred,â€? said the resolutionâ€™s sponsor, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.
â€œI believe that this is something that the Turks and Armenians are best to address,â€? Rice said.
Some years ago Turkey sent an official message to Armenian inviting to objectively analyze the happenings through a joint commission while Armenia rejected. /APA/
