Armenian lobby fails to get Hrant Dink bill through US Senate

The bill indicates at Armenian genocide and call for Turkey government to open the borders with Armenia. The adoption of this bill will be the first step in recognition of false Armenian genocide. But protest of Turkish government and protest letters of Turks made delay the consideration of the bill. This cause serous discontent of Armenian lobby in US. The executive director of Armenian National Committee of America Aram Hamparian said that made written statement.
"We are troubled that Senator Lugar - apparently acting at the request of the Administration - has delayed the U.S. SenateÂ»s tribute to the life and memory of Hrant Dink. We look forward to the panel, at the next opportunity, rejecting any efforts to block or water down this measure, and passing it in the form it was introduced,â€? he said.
Senator Lugar asked to remove the expression pointing at false Armenian genocide from the bill. /APA/
