Construction of gas pipeline to transport Central Asia’s gas to Ukraine discussed in US

Leader of Ukrainian opposition Yuliya Timoshenko visiting the US met with Vice President Dick Cheney and Stephen Hadley, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, APA reports.
Meeting with journalists Timoshenko said that US regards Europe as well as Ukraine as a key country in ensuring energy security in all region.
She said that they discussed the construction of gas pipeline that will transport Uzbekistan’s, Kazakhstan’s and Turkmenistan’s gas to Ukraine through Caspian Sea, Georgia and Black Sea.
They focused attention on the ongoing political processes in Ukraine.
The opposition leader said that Ukraine for the first time in the last 15 years faced the threat of losing sovereignty.
“Ukraine is in critical condition now. The way out is to hold extraordinary parliamentary elections,� she said.
Timoshenko assured journalists that the world is not tired of Ukraine.
“It is not true that democratic world community is tired of Ukraine. On the contrary they regard us as leader that will unite democratic post Soviet countries,� she said. /APA/
