Baku-APA. Iran’s foreign minister blames Europe’s “passive foreign policy” on the US wrong approaches which have hampered EU’s relations with other countries, APA reports quoting presstv.ir website.

This passivity in Europe’s foreign policy is related to the eight-year reign of Republicans in the US, and their wrong policies have reduced the effectiveness of EU’s relations with other countries to the lowest level, Manouchehr Mottaki said on Thursday.

"The West’s illogical actions… such as ignoring the other nations’ inalienable rights have caused fragility in the West’s foreign policy," IRNA quoted Mottaki as saying.

Mottaki referred to “two developments” which he said have caused “significant changes in Europe’s relations with the outside world."

He explained that the first incident was that “the awareness and sense of responsibility” increased among the democratic governments.

"The other point was the almost constant mistakes and failures of regional and trans-regional policies of the Western bloc, especially in dealing with crises in different parts of the world."

It has become clear to the world that what the West introduced as “the most correct and comprehensive approach” in international relations has failed, Mottaki concluded.
