Baku. Ziya Agazade – APA. Swaddled in blankets and peacefully asleep, she is the greatest miracle to emerge from the Haiti earthquake, APA reports quoting “Dailymail” website.

Elisabeth Joassaint was just two weeks old when the ceiling of her home came crashing down on her cot. Her mother Michel, 22, tried desperately to reach the second floor of the building where her tiny daughter had been sleeping.

But she was forced back by collapsing masonry and dust. Fleeing the house in tears, she believed Elisabeth to be dead. Elisabeth, however, was very much alive and endured seven days in the wreckage before French rescuers found her nestled on her bed in a 15cm gap between the debris.

She was plucked free from the rubble with barely a scratch and a messenger dispatched to find her mother who had been living on a football field since the disaster.
’It is a miracle, an absolute miracle,’ said Dr David Cash of Virginia Task Force Two after treating Sabrina. ’She is in remarkable shape. It is an unbelievable feeling.’

Incredibly, it was only one of several incidents which brought hope yesterday to the benighted people of Haiti.
