Baku â€“ APA. Michael Jacksonâ€™s memorial took place at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event was broadcasted live in many countries and residents of New York, London, Tokyo, Melbourne and other large cities could watch the memorial on the screens installed in the cinema houses and squares. More than 17 thousand people, including Jacksonâ€™s family members and friends, as well as famous sport and showbiz figures attended the memorial event. His brother wearing white gloves, symbolizing Michael Jackson, brought his casket to the scene. Messages of condolences sent by former president of South Africa Nelson Mandela and singer Diana Ross were read out at the ceremony. Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz opened the ceremony with Michaelâ€™s â€œIâ€™ll Be Thereâ€ and then Michaelâ€™s brother Jermaine Jackson performed his favorite â€œSmileâ€. In the final the members of Jacksonâ€™s family and all participants performed one of his famous compositions â€œHeal the Worldâ€. Jacksonâ€™s children â€“ Paris Michael Catherine, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II were also there. 11-year old Paris Michael said â€œmy father was the best father in the world and I miss himâ€.
