Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has decided to present the Order of the Nile, the country's highest state award, to US President Donald Trump, said President al-Sisi's press secretary, Ahmed Fahmy, on his Facebook page, APA reports.
Fahmy noted that this order is being presented for Trump's contribution to the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
"President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has decided to present the Order of the Nile to US President Donald Trump. This step was taken for his support for peace efforts, his contribution to reducing tensions in the conflict, and in particular his decisive role in ending the war in Gaza," the statement said.
