At least 60 people have died after a dam collapsed in eastern Sudan due to torrential rains, local media reported the latest tragedy in the North African country, which has been in famine mode due to a civil war that has lasted more than a year, APA reports citing Bloomberg.
Many others are missing after the Arbaat Dam, the site of a reservoir that is a major source of fresh water for the nearby Red Sea city of Port Sudan, collapsed, the Altaghyeer news website reported.
