Baku – APA. Moroccan Foreign Ministry has declared that the country cut diplomatic relations with Iran. APA reports that the decision is linked to the severe statements by an Iranian official against Bahrain government.
On February 20, member of Iran’s Supreme Religious Council Ali Akbar Nateq Nuri said Bahrain used to be Iran’s 14th province, and that it still had a seat in Iran’s parliament. Moroccan government regarded it as groundless and called its charge d’affaires back on February 25.
Bahrain and some Arab states also disapproved Nuri’s statements.
