Baku-APA. NATO is edging closer on Friday to an agreement to take over the command of the military operation of enforcing a no-fly zone over Libya, after Turkey changed its stance, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

NATO ambassadors are still meeting at the headquarters and NATO officials are working on a final statement for NATO’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, which will be released Thursday night, a NATO official told Xinhua.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told the state-run TV on Friday that NATO would now take command of the Libya military operation while the Muslim country’s demands had been met.

Turkey was once an obstacle for the alliance to take charge of the military operation against Libya.
