Baku-APA. Two foreign nationals were killed and another injured in the crash of a helicopter belonging to a foreign company in Algeria’s northern province of Boumerdes on Tuesday morning, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

The accident was reported at around 7:30 local time (0630 GMT) at the mixed suburb of Corso in Boumerdes (about 50 kilometers east of Algiers), the report said citing a source in Boumerdes.

Civil protection services have arrived at the scene and evacuated victims to a hospital in Boumerdes, said the source, adding the wounded had received first necessary care prior to evacuation to the hospital.

The report said the helicopter made a free fall by biting the nose directly into the soil, for unknown reasons.

The three victims on board were loaded by the foreign company to carry out electrical work on behalf of the Algerian state-owned Sonelgaz company on the maintenance of a high voltage line in Corso town, according to the report.
