Issues on simplification of foreign tourists’ visits to Azerbaijan discussed in Baku

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. Visits to Azerbaijan, foreign tourists and conditions that will be created for them in connection with the development of the tourism sector and conduct musical competition "Eurovision-2012 ", as well as actions in the country in connection with the Year of tourism were discussed at an enlarged meeting, organized today by the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) together with travel agencies and relevant state agencies.

Head of Department of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Aydin Ismiyev noted that at the present time work began on the connection of Baku hotels to on-line system. Along with this, main attention will be given on improving levels of service: “Now the level of tourist services in the country is not so high. Work is underway in this direction, and in November trainings will start for staff of 3 or 4 star hotels in Baku, which will last until April”.

The meeting discussed the simplification of entry of foreign tourists to the country during the contest, including giving visas to them.
Head of the migration monitoring of the State Migration Service Elkhan Veliyev noted that the visa experts, attracted by the country of travel agencies to work with, they should only get an entry visa: “At the end of their tenure in the country, travel companies must apply to State Migration Service for its renewal”. He also noted that the documents would be organized electronically.
