Workshop-presentation held on Lithuania’s tourism potential

Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva – APA. A workshop-presentation on Lithuania’s tourism potential was held at the embassy of Lithuania in Azerbaijan. APA reports that the event was organized within the framework of the visit of Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė to Azerbaijan.

Lithuanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas said Lithuania-Azerbaijan relations have large potential in terms of the development of tourism business, the aim of the event is to activate the relations between the countries in this field and promote investments in Lithuania’s tourism business.

Representative of Lithuanian Tourism Department Raymonda Balnene informed the representatives of Azerbaijani tourism companies about various tourism opportunities (work, sport, historical-cultural, health). He said 1.5 million tourists came to Lithuania in 2010.
“They are mainly from the neighboring countries – Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. Unfortunately, few Azerbaijani tourists travel to Lithuania. We hope their number will increase soon,” she said.
