TASS deputy director general: We have not perceived yet how information technologies can be dangerous

Governments should make plans for integration of refugees and internally displaces persons into the society, Rashid Khalikov, Assistant Secretary-General, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said while making speech on “The Importance of Preserving the Human Capital in Conditions of Mass Migration as a Basis for Sustainable Development” at the round table held as part of the V Baku International Humanitarian Forum in Baku Sept. 29

Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of Russian News agency TASS, has made speech on “Transforming of Journalism for the Information Age and its Role in Ensuring Inter-Civilizational Dialogue”. He said the crisis of leadership, ethnic and international conflicts manifest themselves: “This reduces grounds for optimism. The year 2016 was declared the Year of Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan. Baku is a multinational capital city. People from different origin with different religions have been living here. Role of information in this sphere is important. The century of information has already started since last century. Regarding information technologies, they have bad jokes on our society. We have not perceived yet how information technologies can be dangerous. There is also a serious threat on the social networks. We are observing affect of anonymous, uncontrolled and irresponsible information”.

Later on, Mark Rosenblatt, Professor of University of Illionois at Chicago, USA, made a speech on “Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biotechnology and Issues of Personnel Training in Modern Medicine: Innovative and Ethical Problems” and Aleksandr Bugaev, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of Laboratory of e Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics named after V. A. Kotelnikov on “Converging Technologies and Predictions for the Future: the Main challenged of the 21^st Century”.
