Prosecutor seeks nine years for ex-Azerbaijani footballer

Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. The Baku Court of Grave Crimes on Friday continued the trial of former football player Mashallah Ahmadov who is charged swindle.

During the hearing, the public prosecutor sought nine years in prison for him.

The trial will be resumed on December 6.

Ahmadov was detained in December 2015. The former player of Neftchi FC is said to have promised to bring stone slabs from abroad at a price of 150,000 manats. But he did not fulfill his promise and did not return the money.

He was first put in pretrial detention but then the decision was replaced with house arrest.
