Suffering from the consequences of Armenian invasion, Azerbaijan is faced with a serious migration problem, Fuad Alasgarov, head of the Presidential Administration’s Department for Work with Law-Enforcement Agencies, said Wednesday speaking at the opening of the 19th meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Migration Bodies.
Alasgarov remarked that illegal migration and drug trafficking is taking place in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
“Because of what’s happening in the Middle East, refugees are being insulted in Europe. The European Union has not yet been able to work out an effective mechanism to solve its migration problem. Basic human rights are often not respected. On the other hand, racism and intolerance are growing in Europe. There are migrants attempting to enter Azerbaijan illegally. Azerbaijan is a stable and multicultural country with a geographically favorable location,” he said.
