The preliminary investigation into the criminal case involving Major General Elchin Guliyev, former chief of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Azerbaijan, and several others has come to a close, APA has learned.
The criminal case was submitted to the Baku Military Court. The hearing is expected to begin in the coming days.
Following the scandals surrounding the MNS, Elchin Guliyev was dismissed and appointed department head at the MNS academy named after Heydar Aliyev. He was then arrested.
Separate criminal cases have been opened against the arrested MNS officials. The case involving Major General Akif Chovdarov, former head of the ministry’s main energy and transport security directorate, general Subahir Gurbanov, and others continues at the Baku Military Court.
