Nearly 90,000 students in Azerbaijan receive education in Russian: minister

Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. About 90,000 students are currently receiving education in Russian in Azerbaijan’s secondary schools, said Azerbaijani Education Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

He made the remarks in Baku Nov. 28 during the conference titled “State and prospects of Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture”.

In Azerbaijan, over 450,000 students are learning Russian as a foreign language, the minister said, noting that the study of the Russian language in Azerbaijan is based on the principle of multiculturalism.
