Baku. Konul Kamilqizi – APA. The number of school leavers who have scored higher than 500 points (out of 700 maximum) in entrance examinations has increased by 19%, and likewise that of those who scored higher than 600 has also increased by 30%, said Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov.
While 50% of the pupils had gotten good marks in their final exams in 2012, the same percentage became 67% in 2016, the minister told an event held in Baku Oct. 14 for awarding teaching staff.
“However, we shouldn’t assess the operation and quality of education system based on results of final exams. The quality of an educational facility is measured by the professionalism of its teachers, who have played an undeniable and key role in the achievements made in recent years. The quality of educational system, care and resources provided to this sector, and other factors could well enable us to achieve higher results in the future,” he added.
