The criminal case filed against the former deputy chief of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the liquidated National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan, Colonel Ilgar Aliyev, has been terminated upon the relevant decision of an investigative authority as investigations revealed that he indeed committed suicide, APA has learned.
No marks of violance were found on his body during the examination.
The criminal case into the fact of suicide (Article 125) was submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office’s investigation department on grave crimes. No one was found guilty in the case.
Ilgar Aliyev had been arrested over the criminal case initiated against numerous employees of the liquidated National Security Ministry.
Ilgar Aliyev had committed suicide by hanging himself in the Baku detention facility on 20 December 2015.
