Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan to see increase in tourist arrivals after Baku 2017

Baku is one of the world’s most beautiful cities, and the number of tourists traveling to Azerbaijan is measured in millions, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Tuesday.

The influx of tourists to Azerbaijan will increase after the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, said President Aliyev addressing a meeting with the country’s athletes, who won the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, their coaches, and representatives of Azerbaijan’s sports community, APA reported.

He noted that Azerbaijan today is known as a developing modern, progressive and strong country not only in the Islamic, but throughout the world.

“The victories of our athletes strengthen our power and show more clearly that Azerbaijan is among powerful states,” President Aliyev said.

He continued: “On the eve of the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games I said that our main goal is to ensure that athletes, guests representing Muslim countries come together in Baku, get to know each other, shake hands and strengthen friendship, cooperation.” “And we achieved this. We saw this at the Games. On some occasions, representatives of countries that are not so close from a political point of view were congratulating each other, were happy for each other’s success, and were shaking each other’s hands.”
