Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Azerbaijan is set to create anti-corruption departments within all state-funded organizations.

Two new articles proposed by Azerbaijan’s president to be added to the law on countering corruption were discussed at today’s meeting of the parliamentary committee on legal policy and state building.

According to the proposed article 11-1, corruption-related offences can be reported by anyone, written or orally, and relevant departments will be created within state and municipal bodies as well as budget organizations for the reporting of corruption offences so that people employed therein can report possible offences to these departments.

Competent body will investigate the information within 20 working days from the day of registration and inform the person about the result.

According to the proposed article 11-2, if the person, who provides information about corruption offences, wishes to remain anonymous, the competent body and anti-corruption bodies should ensure his/her confidentiality.

The article also provides safety of this person in case of any intimidation and pressure towards him/her and his/her family, as well as prosecution.

The draft was recommended to the parliament’s plenary session.
