Azerbaijan’s Health Ministry said on Friday that in the country there are 679 registered patients who have had a kidney transplant and they are fully provided with 13 different medications at state expense.
Azerbaijan has 38 centers with 590 hemodialysis apparatuses that serve 3,111 patients. 1,273 of these patients in Baku and 1,838 in districts have been demodialyzed, the ministry’s press service told APA.
Hemodialysis department are currently available in Aghsu, Goygol, Bilasuvar, and Gusar.
The network of these centers is meant to be expanded. New ones will be opened in the Zardab and Masalli districts.
There is almost no one on row for free hemodialysis. The Health Ministry fully provides the patients with 71 different drugs and medical items.
Under the “Chronic renal failure” programme, there are currently 679 registered kidney transplant recipients. They are fully provided with 13 different medications at state expense.
