Azerbaijan eyes fining drivers for misuse of disabled car stickers

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Azerbaijan is considering applying penalties for violation of parking rules and misuse of disabled car stickers.

In this regard, the parliamentary Committee on legal policy and state building discussed on Monday a draft law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences.

According to proposed Article 342.1.11, drivers will be fined 40 manats for misusing disabled car stickers.

According to the other proposed articles—346-1.1 AND 346-1.2, driver will be fined 10 manats for leaving the car park without paying the necessary parking fee or without parking the additional amount for parking for longer than paid, and for violating the parking rules.

According to proposed Article 346-1.3, parking of other vehicles in disabled parking spaces will involve penalization at the amount of 10 manats.

According to proposed Article 346-1, parking of trucks over 3.5 tones of maximum total weight in parking spaces, causing obstacles to free parking of vehicles through reservation of parking spaces or other ways, will involve penalization at the amount of 10 manats.

According to proposed Article 346-1.5, drivers will be fined 20 manats for parking of vehicles in parking spaces for over 24 hours.

The draft law was recommended for a discussion at the parliament’s upcoming plenary session.
