Azerbaijan’s Emergencies Ministry holds command and staff exercise

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations held command and staff exercise in the country’s Gabala district on Oct. 12-13, involving forces of the ministry’s North-West center and other bodies in the district, as well as local executive authorities.

 

The exercise was led by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant-General Etibar Mirzayev, the ministry told APA.

 

The main purpose of the exercise was to conduct operational assessment of the emergency situations, further improve the experience in management and organization of activities, strengthen the personnel’s professionalism and enhance cooperation between the ministry’s bodies and relevant local executive authorities.   

 

The command and staff exercise was held in difficult mountainous terrain and in adverse weather conditions with the involvement of ministry’s 649 personnel and 110 pieces of equipment. All tasks were successfully fulfilled.  

 

Fire experts and specialists in mountaineering of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Interior observed the exercise.

 

Following the exercise, deputy minister Etibar Mirzayev met with the specialists and held a meeting on results of the command and staff exercise.
