ABAD and ASAN services show Azerbaijan’s new positive image, said Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the project “Support to ASAN for strengthening data analysis and small business development initiative,” APA reports.
"These projects are very good Azerbaijani brands. Projects will continue and will make services more accessible to people. Today we are completing the project but our support to ABAD will continue within the framework of UNDP,” he said.
The ambassador recalled that currently Azerbaijan and the EU are working on a new agreement.
"Relations between Azerbaijan and the EU are on a new level. The agreements and projects have been brought to a higher level by the parties,” he noted.
Addressing the event, Inam Karimov, chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, said that Azerbaijan is implementing large-scale reforms in the social, economic and administrative spheres and five years ago ASAN Service was created as part of these reforms.
“ASAN brought innovation to the sphere of public services. To date, ASAN centers rendered services to about 20 million citizens. The level of satisfaction of citizens varies between 98-100 percent. ASAN is known worldwide as an Azerbaijani brand,” he said.
Karimov noted that as a new product, ABAD is implemented in partnership with ASAN.
“This is a step forward simplification and renovation of our citizens’ lives. Our goal is to support the development of small and medium entrepreneurships and to contribute the improvement of regional family businesses. During this year, 203 families have joined ABAD, which is a sustainable development model. This model will be very useful to the entire world,” he added.
Rufat Elchiyev, director of ABAD said that 6 ABAD points of sale are operating in Baku and the country’s district.
He recalled that the EU launched a project in support of ABAD in October 2016.
