Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. The amount of precipitation is expected to increase in the country’s mountainous parts and decrease in lowlands, Maharram Hasanov, ANAS doctor of philosophy in geography, said in a statement to APA.
According to him, the amount of precipitation in the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, particularly in Sheki, Zagatala, Gakh, and Balakan, is expected to increase, while there will be declining precipitation in the lowlands. Figures from 1961-1990 and 1991-2015 are indicative of it.
Maharram Hasanov added northern and north-western air masses have entered Azerbaijan.
”Mild continental maritime air masses formed from the Atlantic and mild continental air masses from the Scandinavian Peninsula always bring humidity. So rainy weather in September is not nothing surprising,” he said.
