US Prime Minister Donald Trump continues to believe that peace in Ukraine is achievable and is working toward it, despite the situation in Iran, said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, APA reports.
"I think the [US] president would say that peace is still an achievable goal in the Russia-Ukraine war," she emphasized in a conversation with reporters, commenting on allegations in the American press about Moscow possibly sharing intelligence with Tehran. "The current administration still wants to see that. And I know the president will continue to work on it," Leavitt noted.
She declined to specify whether the US chief of staff plans to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin in light of the allegations. "Let the President [Trump] speak directly on that," the White House spokesperson said.
