A meeting was held between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev and Turkmenistan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Mukhammetseyit Sylapov at the DOST Agency, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population told APA.
It was reported that Turkmenistan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Mukhammetseyit Sylapov, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, familiarized himself with the services provided to citizens at Baku DOST Center No. 1. Presentations were made for him on the DOST Concept and digital services in the social sphere.
Anar Aliyev stated that one of the documents exchanged today with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. He noted that the document would further expand cooperation by creating a legal framework for regular dialogue, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint projects between the two ministries.
It was emphasized that there is significant potential for exchanging experience in the modernization of social insurance systems, digitalization of services, and the development of professional training and retraining programs. It was also noted that it would be appropriate to explore cooperation opportunities in the fields of labor protection, social services, employment program development, pension system advancement, and support for vulnerable groups. It was stated that the newly signed cooperation document creates conditions for important progress in these areas.
It was also noted that a draft Agreement on cooperation in the field of pension provision between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkmenistan has already been prepared. Mukhammetseyit Sylapov said that important steps would continue to be taken to develop bilateral cooperation and that consistent exchanges of experience in the process of social reforms are mutually beneficial.
During the meeting, the role of the Labor Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), established in Baku, in developing cooperation among member states in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection was discussed. Future cooperation issues between the two ministries were also reviewed.
