The remains of Gurban Ramazan oglu Goyushov, a serviceman who went missing during the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family in the settlement of Guzanli, Aghdam, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

A farewell ceremony for the martyr was held today.

Family members of martyrs, war participants, district officials, and residents attended the ceremony.

The remains of the martyr were laid to rest at the Martyrs’ Alley in the settlement of Guzanli.

Gurban Ramazan oglu Goyushov was born on June 26, 1974, in the village of Bash Guney, Aghdara district. He was one of the young members of the village territorial self-defense battalion and distinguished himself with particular activity in several operations. On March 12, 1992, during the occupation of Azerbaijani-populated villages of Aghdara district by Armenian armed formations, Gurban Goyushov fell into an ambush while repelling an attack on the village in the direction of Sirkhavand. Although his father tried to evacuate him from the battlefield while he was wounded, continuous fire by Armenians in that direction made it impossible to rescue him.

Recall that Gurban Goyushov’s remains were discovered by his relatives at the very place where his father had left him after the local anti-terror operations.
