The remains of soldier Mahir Abuzar oglu Guliyev, a missing martyr of the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family, APA’s southern bureau reports.
Representatives of the district community, veterans, families of martyrs, law enforcement officers, and servicemen attended the farewell ceremony held at the home where the martyr’s family lives. Those who delivered speeches highly appreciated the martyr’s services to the Motherland and stated that his memory will always be held dear.
The funeral ceremony was accompanied by a volley of gunfire and the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani flag draped over the coffin was presented to the martyr’s family.
It should be noted that Mahir Guliyev, born in 1958, went missing during the fighting in the Aghdara direction in 1992. His remains were identified after expert examinations and identification procedures and were handed over to his family.
