The number of Azerbaijani citizens who went missing as a result of Armenia’s military aggression has been updated, APA reports, citing the website of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.

4,009 people have been registered as missing as a result of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan.

Of them, 4,003 went missing during the First Karabakh War, while 6 went missing during the Patriotic War.

Of the 4,003 people who went missing during the First Karabakh War, 3,221 were military personnel and 782 were civilians, including 71 children, 288 women, and 319 elderly people. Among the missing persons, 3,714 are men and 289 are women.

The identities of 226 missing martyrs who went missing during the First Karabakh War as a result of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan have been established, and their remains have been handed over to their families for burial.
