The number of ethnic Azerbaijanis living in Georgia stands at 268,832, APA's local bureau reports.
This became known from the results of Georgia’s 2024 population census.
Compared to 2014, when the previous census was conducted, the number of Azerbaijanis living in the neighboring country increased by 15.4%. Azerbaijanis rank second in terms of population size after ethnic Georgians. Ethnic Armenians rank third with 169,296 people.
It should be noted that a population census is conducted in Georgia every 10 years. In 2024, the population of the neighboring country amounted to 3.9 million people, which is 5.8% higher than the 2014 figure.
