Failure to report signs of violence detected in children will result in fines, APA reports.

This is reflected in the proposed new Articles 189-4 and 189-5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was submitted for discussion at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.

Under the proposed Article 189-4, parents (or persons replacing them), as well as employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, leisure institutions and penitentiary institutions responsible for supervising children who fail to report signs of violence detected in a child to the relevant law enforcement authorities or to the local commission on the protection of children’s rights will face fines. Individuals will be fined from 200 to 300 manats, while officials will be fined from 400 to 600 manats.

According to the proposed Article 189-5, individuals who fail to prevent violence against children, including persistent pressure and aggressive behavior among children in educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, leisure institutions and penitentiary institutions, will be fined from 300 to 400 manats. Officials will face fines ranging from 500 to 600 manats.

After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted on third reading.
