On March 6, 2026, Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović held a phone call with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the conversation, the ministers extensively discussed regional security issues. They emphasized the importance of increasing diplomatic efforts and upholding the norms and principles of international law amid the escalating situation in the Middle East.
During the call, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the drone attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on March 5. It was stressed that this step contradicts Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and international law.
Minister Ervin Ibrahimović strongly condemned Iran’s drone attacks against Azerbaijan, noting that they raise serious concern. He expressed understanding for Azerbaijan’s position and voiced solidarity with the country.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
