“Over the past 2-3 days in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, 19-22 C' are observed, in low-lying areas 21-25 C', in mountainous areas 18 C', in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic 20-25 degrees of heat. Temperature observed in Baku is 2 degrees above the climatic norm,“ Asif Verdiyev, chief hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.
According to him, during the last years the hot weather in October month was observed in 1934: “After that relatively hot weather condition was recorded in 2002 and 2012. The highest temperature in October this year was at the beginning of the month ( 27.5 C). In the following days, the temperature changed around 20-24 C. There were years that higher temperatures from this was observed in October. For example, 32.7 C temperature was recorded in Baku in 2012, and 31.6 C in 2013. Even last year 28.8 C was recorded. The temperature observed in October this year is lower in comparison to the past years.”
