The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Azerbaijan organized an official reception in Baku on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, APA reports.

The event was attended by state and government officials, members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan, members of the Kyrgyz diaspora in the country, and representatives of the public.

The official reception began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov emphasized that the two countries are friends and brotherly nations.

According to him, the allied relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan open up new opportunities for the development of strategic partnership, while political dialogue, economic ties, and cooperation in various fields between the countries are developing dynamically.

"Regular high-level contacts, the activities of mechanisms such as the Interstate Council and the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, as well as the implementation of concrete projects within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, demonstrate the strengthening of long-term partnership," he noted.

Maksat Mamytkanov emphasized that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Kyrgyzstan on July 30-31 this year was an important event in the history of bilateral relations.

He stated that strengthening cooperation between the two countries also contributes to the development of ties between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, the expansion of transport connectivity across Eurasia, and the creation of new economic opportunities.

"Our countries emphasize the importance of linking the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project with the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor. The implementation of projects in this direction opens up new opportunities for strengthening transport links between Central Asia and the South Caucasus," the ambassador stressed.

Congratulating the Kyrgyz state and people on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov stated that traditional ties of friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples have historically existed. Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations are at the level of strategic partnership.

According to him, political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan has acquired new substance and quality, while new opportunities have emerged for expanding economic and trade ties and cooperation in transport, logistics, and energy.

He stated that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in July this year and the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations during the visit marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the doubling of the capital of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund is an indication of mutual trust.

"The development of the Middle Corridor, diversification of transport links, and strengthening of regional connectivity create new opportunities for the economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. We should assess these opportunities not only in terms of increasing bilateral trade but also from the perspective of broader regional integration and sustainable development," Samir Sharifov noted.

He also touched upon cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, describing the construction of the Aykol Manas School in Aghdam as a special symbol of brotherhood.
