US President Donald Trump said Monday that negotiations with Iran were progressing, but Washington remained uncertain about who was making decisions in Tehran, Israel's Channel 12 reports.
"We're talking to them. It's progressing well. The problem is that we're not sure who is making the decisions, and we don't want them to try to string us along again," Trump told the outlet.
Trump said he was in no hurry to resume military strikes against Iran, arguing that US economic pressure was weakening Tehran.
"I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere. We are paralyzing their economy," he said.
He said Iran lacked money and fuel and that its people were exhausted by the current situation.
"There isn't a sense of urgency among the Iranian leadership like I thought there would be. But they want a deal more than at any point since the beginning of the war," he added.
