Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that Tehran is seeking to resolve its standoff with the United States through dialogue, while rejecting what he described as excessive demands from its adversaries, Foreign media reports.

Speaking at a meeting with provincial governors and mayors of major cities, Pezeshkian said Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, had granted the government additional authorities to pursue negotiations and seek solutions to the ongoing confrontation.

He stressed that Iran would not yield to pressure from its adversaries, rejecting what he called their "lies, exaggerations, and excessive demands."

"Enemies cannot make our Iran surrender through war," Pezeshkian said.

Addressing the domestic impact of the conflict and naval blockade, the president also called for measures to strengthen public resilience and ease economic pressures on citizens.

He pledged targeted subsidies and lower prices for essential goods, particularly for disadvantaged communities and residents of border regions.

Pezeshkian's remarks follow comments earlier in the week in which he said Iran was prepared to end the war from a position of "strength and dignity," rather than through capitulation.

He also indicated that Tehran remained open to returning to legal frameworks, provided that Washington respected Iran's rights.
