The National Artificial Intelligence Center (NAIC), one of the companies of AZCON Holding, has brought together executives and specialists from the public and private sectors in a two-day international practical training program in cooperation with the School of Management at the State University of New York at Buffalo, APA reports.

The program was implemented as part of the "Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028," approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 19, 2025.

More than 180 executives and specialists representing banks, government agencies, private companies and holdings, as well as state-owned enterprises, participated in the program held in Baku on October 31 – November 1, 2026.

With the participation of an academic delegation led by Ananth Iyer, Dean and Professor at the School of Management of the State University of New York at Buffalo, the training sessions were based on real business cases, interactive sessions and practical assignments.

The main objective of the initiative was to transfer international academic experience to local organizations, develop the practical artificial intelligence skills of executives and specialists, and expand opportunities for the application of these technologies in the public and private sectors.

The program covered the practical application of artificial intelligence in finance and accounting, supply chain management, and business analytics. The main focus was on increasing operational efficiency, optimizing business processes, and strengthening data-driven strategic decision-making.

At the end of the two-day program, participants gained practical experience in using artificial intelligence tools in real work scenarios and exchanged knowledge and experience with representatives of various sectors. The training sessions helped strengthen participants' practical skills to apply the knowledge they acquired in the activities of their organizations.

Tuncay Baghirov, Director General of the National Artificial Intelligence Center, assessed the strategic importance of the initiative as follows:

"Making the most of the opportunities created by artificial intelligence is directly linked to organizations' ability to effectively integrate these technologies into management and decision-making processes. As NAIC, we consider strengthening the capacity of organizations in this direction one of the main driving forces behind the systematic, effective and sustainable application of artificial intelligence in our country."

Note that through its initiatives in this area, the National Artificial Intelligence Center aims to contribute to the development of human capital in artificial intelligence in Azerbaijan, the transfer of international knowledge and experience to the local ecosystem, the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the public and private sectors, and the acceleration of the country's digital transformation.
