Ukraine is ready to suspend attacks on Russian oil refineries for one month in exchange for the United States providing a one-month supply of missiles for Patriot air defense systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News, APA reports.
According to Zelenskyy, he has repeatedly discussed the issue of strikes on Russian oil refineries with US President Donald Trump and his team.
"After Russia's attacks on our energy infrastructure, killing our people, striking our electricity grid, gas infrastructure, and oil refineries, we cannot refrain from responding," the Ukrainian President emphasized.
Zelenskyy stated that there are two options for Ukraine to stop attacking Russian oil refineries: Russia must stop attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure, or the United States must provide Kyiv with missiles for Patriot systems.
"If you want us not to attack Russian oil refineries, they must also stop attacking our energy system. The other option is to give us Patriot missiles. We will find the money for them. This is not just about aid; we will pay for them," Zelenskyy stated.
It should be noted that the US State Department approved the sale of 500 Patriot missiles to Ukraine on October 30. However, Zelenskyy said that the delivery of these missiles could take several years.
