Meat sale exempt from VAT in Azerbaijan

Sale of animal meat in Azerbaijan is exempt from value-added tax (VAT), APA reports.

According to the amendment proposed to the Tax Code, the sale of animal meat will be exempt from VAT on January 1, 2020 for four years.

At the same time, VAT exemption for poultry meat sales is also being increased. According to the current law, the sale of poultry meat has been exempted from VAT for January 1, 2017 for three years. The proposal provides for exemption of poultry meat sales from January 1, 2020 for four years.

The provisions of this Article do not apply to processed meat, except for cut and frozen meats.

The draft law is included in the agenda of the sessions of the Milli Majlis on November 12-13 and 14.
