On March 11, the next group of residents was resettled in Khanabad village of the Khojaly district, the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts told APA’s Karabakh bureau.
21 families comprising 103 people have returned to their native homeland.
Residents in the city of Khojaly were presented with the keys to their new apartments.
Speaking at the event, Mahmud Afandiyev, Deputy Executive Director of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, stated that the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories are accelerating day by day, and the main goal of the implemented projects is to ensure the return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands in a short period of time and to create a sustainable living environment in the region.
It was noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, within the framework of the restoration and reconstruction programs implemented in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, new residential settlements are being established, modern infrastructure is being created, and all necessary conditions are being provided for the comfortable living of the population. The families relocated to Khanabad village have also been provided with restored private houses equipped with all necessary utilities. Residents returning to their native lands expressed their gratitude for the conditions created by the state, noting that they are experiencing the joy of reuniting with their ancestral lands after many years.
