International Commission sees inspection of remains of people missing in the war

On April 5, Kathryne Bomberger, Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), and Andreas Kleiser, Director for Policy and Cooperation of ICMP, who are on an official visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Association of the Health Ministry, APA reports citing the ministry.

Adalat Hasanov, Director General of Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Association informed the guests about the tasks facing the union's staff in forensic examination and identification of the remains of thousands of military and civilian citizens missing during the First Karabakh War.

It was noted that the relevant departments of the Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Association receive the remains of bodies in the mass graves found in the liberated territories in the form of forensic material evidence. Besides, the forensic medical examination (forensic criminology) of bodies submitted on the decision of the prosecutor's office is carried out.
